The Philippines' First Cherry Blossom Park to Bloom in Benguet!

Yearly, tourists from different side of the world go to Japan to witness the blooming of their snow-white national flower, cherry blossoms. But good news for Filipinos, a park that features snow-white flower will be opening to holiday makers soon.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the bond between Japan's Kochi prefecture and Benguet province, more than 30 cherry blossom seedlings were planted at a mountaintop park in Atok, Benguet. Atok is about a three-hour drive from Baguio City, one of the places in the Philippines, where the temperature is just enough for the tiny pink flowers bloom.

Sakura, as Japanese calls it, is considered one of the most beautiful flowers in the world. With Sakura seedlings being cultured in the Philippines, Filipinos will no longer need to get a plane ticket to Japan to witness the majestic and magical sight.
